Mouty: "Feedback from Mido for the future generation of our ranges" "Sometimes you think that it's impossible to do anything new. But you're wrong!" This is the strong belief of Christophe Mouty, the manager and spirit of OriginEyes, a French company at Mido 2013.   What do you expect from this edition of Mido and from 2013 in general? This is a great opportunity – Christophe Mouty replied – to show all of our new products and test it immediately with people. It's the right place to have a lot of feedbacks and so, prepare the next generation of our ranges! It's also a huge opportunity to meet distributors and we need it! We want to have partners to sell our products everywhere, so, please, feel free, come and visit us! Mido is also one of the biggest optical show in the world and it's really great to be here near to big optical actors! This is the opportunity to discover all new products.   - Let's go into detail about the new products you will present on this occasion News about our wooden frames is the following: introduction of 4 new shapes in 3 different colors (one new color), colors (pink, blue...) on front face, and metal temples available on all of our frames. News about our horn frames is the following: introduction of 4 new shapes, new mate colors, and metal temples available on our new frames.   - The words you use most frequently are research and innovation. Do they really represent the sector's reference point? Research and innovation are mandatory for all companies in all kind of business to live and have success against competitors. Sometimes, people think that you cannot anymore innovate, but this is wrong! Just open your eyes and ears, listen your customers and you'll see that it always exist some new needs and so, new products to develop! In our business (optical), I think that we are at a key point: new technologies are arriving at a very fast speed, like electronic spectacles (Google glasses)...Certainly, we'll have in the next few years some really new innovations which will change our life!   -It seems that, in order to capture specific market segments, large companies increasingly aim for big numbers through acquisitions and smaller companies target specialization. Do you think this trend will be consolidated in the future? Well, it seems that it will continue for a long time! The only thing which can change this trend is an important breakthrough with some new actors arriving with complete new technologies (electronic lenses, frames or a big innovation in contactology). This is what happened with cameras, IT... But investments needed are really important in optical business and, therefore, I don't think that "small actors" can arrive easily and compete with the big actors like Luxottica or Essilor.   - Which word describes your company? Naturally unique!!
