Modo continues its dedication to social responsibility
The company donates close to $1 million worth of eyewear through Buy a Frame, Give a Frame program Modo continues its dedication to social responsibility by contributing about $1 million worth of donated eyewear to the SEVA Foundation; a leading innovator in the delivery of vital eye care services to the world's most vulnerable. Through our partnership with SEVA, organizations like Nepal's Comprehensive Eye Care Society (NNJS) will benefit from the close to $1 million donation we've made in the Nepal area. NNJS is credited with coordinating 90 percent of all eye care services in Nepal. Of the 2.2 million Nepali people seeking eye care consultations annually, 43 percent are potentially in need of eyeglasses, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). "Modo is pleased to work closely with the Seva Foundation to assure our donation reaches sustainable eye care organizations like the NNJS in Nepal," said Alessandro Lanaro, owner and CEO of Modo. "With the help of Seva Foundation, these local eye care organizations will receive and distribute the donated frames to remote eye hospitals and clinics. "There is an incredible desire from customers to purchase products from brands with a purpose and we are proud to offer such brands." The donation was made possible through Modo's "Buy a Frame, Give a Frame" program, where for every frame purchased, Modo donates a frame to those in need.
