Italia Independent presents Pol Espargaró eyewear in Barcelona

Creativity, style and sport meet to create a unique edition On Thursday, November 28, the Hotel Omm in Barcelona was the venue for the exclusive presentation of the "Unique Edition for Pol Espargaró" eyewear signed by Italia Independent, the rider's current sponsor.   Attended by Italia Independent Group president Lapo Elkann, and Pol Espargaró, winner of the 2013 Moto2 Class World Championship, the event included the presentation of new eyewear that is the result of the collaboration between the rider, who will be brand ambassador also for next year's MotoGP, and Italia Independent.   The unique product was developed by Italia Independent based on its most popular model, 090, and the considerable experience it has gained over the years in the sector of "tailor made" products.   Italia Independent has always been distinguished for its ability to implement projects that are personalized to meet its customers' specific needs. This is one of the intrinsic characteristics of its DNA: working continually on innovation and research in order to create something special, unique. This precise aim resulted in the customization program: the creation of totally customized eyewear – from color to materials to lenses - with over 3 million possible combinations.   "Unique Edition for Pol Espargaró" is the first model that the brand has produced for an individual athlete and the rider has been actively involved ever since the project was defined.   The colors and the design chosen for the eyewear are based on the rider's logo and the nickname that he has had since he first began racing, Polyccio. His number, 44, also appears on one of the temples, symmetrical with the Italia Independent logo.   The rubber-effect eyewear features dark blue mirrored lenses. Product customization is completed with the wording "Unique Edition for Pol Espargaró" inside the left temple.   Born at Granollers (Barcelona) on June 10, 1991, Pol Espargaró began racing motorbikes when he was only four years old. At 14 he was already the second youngest rider to become a Spanish champion. At 15 he held, and still holds, the record for being the youngest rider ever to enter the World Championship classification and the fifth to stand on the podium at the age of 16. In 2010 he was third in the 125cc Class World Championship and the following year he finished in second place at the Moto2 Class after an exciting race with Marc Márquez. He has 10 wins and 36 podiums in the World Championships.
