Why should an optical company join the ESA? Let's ask members
ESA is pleased to welcome the members who have recently joined the association The European Sunglass Association (ESA) is pleased to welcome the members who have recently joined the association. The number of companies that decided to avail themselves of the precious support and assistance of the ESA to better face the dynamic European sunglass market increases constantly. Alfred Franks & Barlett, a British company with over 60 years of knowledge and experience within the sunglass industry, supplier for most of the major UK High Street retail chains, is one of the brand new members of the ESA. "AFB are known for our ability to provide quality fashion sunglasses incorporating the latest designs and trends at competitive prices" says Mr Laurence Cowan, AFB' Managing Director; again "We are also well known for having the best and latest high profile Children's Licenses" But what drives an optical company like AFB to enter the European Sunglass Association? "In joining the ESA we can meet other experts within our field and get a better understanding of the direction being considered for any changes in European sunglass regulations and within our industry" states Mr Cowan "At the same time, I believe we have something to bring to the ESA in our Head of Quality Assurance Judith Forster who is knowledgeable, experienced and versed in the existing standards and able to provide valuable feedback from key UK retailers as to issues within the sunglass industry". Since its foundation in 1994, ESA has always provided consumers with high-quality products and market research – like the last one carried on by SWV - studies, norms and marketing and communication services. Assisting members by providing professional information, protecting the European sunglass industry and end consumer and federating the interests of all the parties involved are all primary tasks of the Organization. Members feel as a great additional benefit to understand at an earlier stage the direction of any changes in legislation, market conditions and new lens developments, preferring to be proactive rather than reactive to ensure their factories.
