
A look at Mido 2012: Area
MD Tessaro: "we always focus on the magic of the Orient" A re-presentation of the "top collection, Coco Song" with special attention to the "magic of the Orient". This is how Area was presented at Mido 2012, according to managing director Elisio Tessaro during an interview with MidoTV. "We have very beautiful models with renewed quality but also with a design that is much more minimalist", Tessaro explained and pointed out that the concept of the Orient is still a valid one "because it is our collection's strong point. We have eyewear that contains silk and, above all, for the evening it will have our flowers or ostrich feathers, but we have maintained extremely simple shapes enriched with these small details from our magical Orient". In a year that Tessaro describes as "not very easy", Area targeted the international market – Germany in particular – and because it was successful it will apply the same strategy in 2012. With regard to Mido, Area's MD would willingly return to the old formula of four days and suggests a revival of April or May: "but I already know that not everyone will agree with me".
