Upcoming Balenciaga and Marcolin license agreement
The terms of the agreement are under discussion Marcolin S.p.A. today announced that a preliminary exclusive license agreement has been reached for the design, production and worldwide distribution of the sunglasses and vision frames collections by Balenciaga. The agreement will be for 5 years with the option to renew for an additional 10 years. The first collection could be presented as early as 2013. The two companies are still negotiating all the terms of the contract, but envisage final agreement by March 31, 2012. Marcolin Group Style&Licensing Officer Maurizio Marcolin stated: "We are particularly proud and enthusiastic about announcing this agreement and about working with Balenciaga and its Creative Director, Nicolas Ghesquière. The label is considered to be one of the fashion excellences in the PPR Group. This new license will further consolidate our mission: to create, produce and market unique designer products that are recognized for their excellent quality. We are a successful partner that can efficiently interpret the brand's values and enhance its DNA through eyewear. Balenciaga fits perfectly into our brand portfolio and will further increase the luxury area to which we refer".
