New present and future objectives for Safilens

New present and future objectives for Safilens

A stronger domestic market, internationalization projects and new product developments for the Italian company It is a period of great change and important developments for Safilens, the prestigious Italian company that captivated national and international markets with its line of Safe-Gel contact lenses and went on to revolutionize the contactology sector with its innovative Fusion Technology.   Already on sale in Italy and ready to make its debut on the European market at OPTI 2013, the extraordinary Fusion Technology ensures optimal hydration and lubrication during contact lens wear thanks to the incorporation of a tamarind seed polysaccharide (TSP) and hyaluronic acid (HA) copolymer; in other words, the two natural polymers that are most widely used in the treatment of dry eye symptoms. Available in daily and weekly contact lenses as well as in a lens single solution, this patented technology can improve the quality of life of contact lens wearers because it re-establishes and normalizes the physiological ratio between tear film and eye surface.   Fusion Technology was an important turning point in the history of Safilens, a company that has always put research and innovation in the forefront in order to develop solutions implementing and enhancing its products' characteristics and, as a consequence, end-user comfort. Safilens is taking its growth and development in the same direction following the recent acquisition by the Bruno Farmaceutici Group, market leader for cortisones and anti-diabetic drugs. The company's present and future projects include the development of new products with a bigger and effective presence on European markets.   Currently, the main reference market for Safilens is still Italy, where the company sells about 75% of its products. However, commented Vincenzo Bruno, new Sole Director of Safilens, "we are setting up subsidiaries in strategic countries like the United Kingdom, Scandinavia and Spain; in addition, we will further strengthen our presence on the Old Continent through new partnerships in central Europe and the Balkans. Lastly, the implementation of important objectives in the United States is scheduled for 2013".   A process of increased internationalization which includes the strategic decision to take part for the first time in two of the most important fairs in the optical sector. In 2013, Safilens will be at OPTI MUNICH for the official launch of Fusion Technology on the European market, and at MIDO, the unmissable appointment for unveiling important product developments for the future.
