'Yo-Rhad' with Ray-Ban Junior
Ray-Ban is making its first appearance in a cartoon. 'Yo-Rhad, a friend from outer space' is the new Italian animation that will premier at the Giffoni Film Festival, the international event dedicated to children's movies, from July 16 through 23 at Giffoni Valle Piana (Salerno).
Based on the book 'Friends from outer space' by Victor Rambaldi (who co-directed and wrote the script with Camillo Teti), Yo-Rhad is the little extraterrestial protagonist who wears a sunglasses model from the Ray-Ban Junior collection.
Models from the Luxottica brand have already been worn by the stars of such movies as Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Blues Brothers, Risky Business, Top Gun, There's something about Mary, Almost Famous, Betty Love, Pearl Harbor, Traffic, Men In Black 1 and 2, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Daredevil, and Sahara. In this case, the Ray-Ban model (RJ 9007-S) worn by the star from outer space comes from the Ray-Ban Junior Sun collection created in 2003; it was followed by the Ray-Ban Junior Optical collection in January this year and is already a success on the main world markets.
The model worn in the cartoon is currently on sale at leading optics chains and at specialist opticians, along with the numerous other models from the Ray-Ban Junior Sun and Vision collections.
The Giffoni Film Festival is an event that's well-known to Ray-Ban Junior, which sponsored the previous edition and is the promoter of the Ray-Ban Junior Award, the special award for the movie that best interprets the brand's values of authenticity and genuineness. The cartoon will be on release in Italian cinemas in the fall and in the rest of the world in 2006.
