10 million counterfeit items seized in Milan

Dangerous toys and household appliances, sabers, daggers, watches, glasses and fake telephony accessories. The Milan customs division, the Guardia di Finanza, seized over 10 million counterfeit items with a commercial value of over 60 million euros.

The goods were found and seized from four sheds in via Negrotto, in the north suburbs of Milan. Seven Chinese, officially domiciled, but with previous convictions for counterfeiting, were arrested by customs officers for receiving, importing and selling products with fake logos, and for selling dangerous toys.

The seized goods, which came from southeast Asia, were headed for the northern Italian market.
