Tom Ford brand potential

Tom Ford brand potential

According to certain analysts consulted by Milano Finanza Fashion, a year after the leaving of the Gucci Group, Tom Ford has strong potential as an autonomous brand, but should not let any more time go by.

The 43-year-old Texan could sign products without onerous costs or structures, by relying on the best players in the clothing, perfume, eyewear and accessories sector.

'Tom Ford still has a great evocative power in the fashion world', Roberto D'Incau, headhunter at the Hudson Highland Group, a company focused on fashion, media and luxury goods sector, told Mff. Giacomo Santucci, Chairman and Chief Executive of Gucci from 2001 to 2004, is also of the same opinion. 'Compared to his competitors, Tom Ford has an added advantage', the manager explained, 'he's a global brand'.

According to another person, who asked to remain anonymous, a hypothetical up-and-running Tom Ford holding could reach billings of 100-120 million euros. The figure includes royalties from a diversification policy for perfumes and eyewear, and income from the sale of prêt-à-porter and accessories.

But this figure could drop even by as much as a third if the debut takes place in a year's time. In fact Carlo Pambianco said that the value of the brand has not slowed in the past year, but it would be better not to delay further.
