Silhouette eyewear with Blue Blocker lenses
For the next summer season, Silhouette presents a collection that will provide intelligent eye protection against sunlight.
The ideal Eyes protection system set up by the Austrian company consists of four different types of filters, ideal Protection, ideal Pol, ideal Golf and ideal Image. They have different and specific technologies for protection against sunlight. Each lens is available in combination with three models (Titan Minimal Art, Folding Rimless and Inside Wave) for a total of 13 models in 10 different colors.
The most innovative of the filters proposed is ideal Protection; it is designed to protect the eyes from the high radiation levels in blue light that can permanently damage the eyes. To prevent this, Silhouette has developed Blue Bocker, a special brown filter that absorbs 96.5% of blue light, increases color contrast perception and guarantees particularly clear vision without altering colors. Ideal protection for the eyes that can be compared to a sun cream with a protection factor of 32.
With ideal Pol, Silhouette offers even more complete protection (comparable to a sun cream with a protection factor of 60-70) from exposure to reflected light (the sea, snow and, in general, from smooth and polished surfaces). There are two polarizing lenses: brown, which is especially suitable for shortsighted people, and gray, recommended for people with presbyopia. Both are produced with the special 12-layer technology that eliminates annoying reflections and prevents optical distortion.
ideal Golf, on the other hand, is designed for golf enthusiasts. Thanks to the exclusive Light Stabilizing Technology, ideal Golf lenses offer three-dimensional visibility that allows each blade of grass to be distinguished, gives distances and uneven ground greater definition, immediate identification of white on a green background, and reduces annoying eye strain due to the continual changes in light conditions. The protection factor guaranteed by the ideal Golf filters is comparable to a factor 20 sun cream.
The three models proposed by Silhouette with the four different types of filters for spring/summer 2006 are Titan Minimal Art, Folding Rimless and Inside Wave Bar.
For Titan Minimal Art, the symbol of minimalism, some lenses have round edges while others are more square and rigorous; with Folding Rimless, Silhouette introduces glasses with folding temples featuring an exclusive, screwless hinge to guarantee perfect stability. The bridge and nose-piece are in titanium and the ultraflat and flexible temples are in Spx. The most fascinating lenses are the cat's eye models for a look that's mysterious and sensual.
The most recent line is Inside Wave Bar. The titanium bar inside the lenses is joined to filters only at the height of the nose-piece and gives the lenses the appearance of floating. An effect of pure lightness and maximum stability guaranteed by the materials: titanium for the bar and Spx for the extremely flat temples.
For those who need vision correction, graduated base 6 and base 8 sun lenses can be mounted on all the sunglasses in the collection.
