Seiko AZ biaspherical lenses
Seiko proposes a complete range of high-index organic lenses with patented 'AZ' biaspherical design.
Seiko AZ reduce spherical and astigmatic aberrations to a minimum also in the peripheral areas of the lens. By aligning the focal points of both axes in a very wide area of the lens, a realistic, distortion-free image is created both at the center and at the side to give vision that is completely natural, relaxed and comfortable in any situation. The geometrical aberrations in both meridians are perfectly corrected, even in the case of strong prescription lenses and toric corrections.
With a patented central spherical area of 10 mm, Seiko AZ biaspherical lenses are extremely slim and lightweight. With astigmatic strengths, a considerable reduction in aberrations is obvious, even on the second main meridian. Using an advanced mathematical calculation, Seiko inserts the biaspherical area exactly where it is needed, at the sides of the lens, and keeps the 'spherical' geometry to a 10 mm central area. Vision is natural and absolutely distortion free over the entire surface of the lens, from the center to the edges, and benefits from the spherical-geometry central area and the biaspherical correction in the peripheral areas of both meridians.
Seiko AZ biaspherical organic lenses come in three different high-refraction indices: SPG AZ 1.74, SSV AZ 1.67 and SLU AZ 1.60, to guarantee maximum freedom of choice for the wearer. They are produced with integrated treatments: hardening (for perfect surface protection), antireflection (to reduce glare) and Hi-Hydrophobic (for easier and faster cleaning).
