Oakley at New York fashion week
Oakley took part in the Olympus Fashion Week, New York, by organizing its very first official fashion show with 21 models, who included Ana Beatriz Barros, the Oakley icon 2005.
The show, which took place February 5, marked the official launch of the Fall 2005 prêt-à-porter line of garments for women. Oakley has entered the world of fashion with innovations that draw on the current trend of blending technology with daily life.
For the women's collection, the company has designed tailored inserts and has set up special processes which provide fabrics with a look and feel that are uniquely Oakley. Invention in fashion is exemplified by the versatility of a collection focusing on the female form and interchangeability that goes from active days to casual evenings.
'Fashion is the art of invention and our new line of women's apparel is a natural progression in the story of Oakley, a company dedicated to authenticity', Chairman Colin Baden said. 'The Oakley woman demands functionality, style and creativity. She wants versatility and the ability to personalize a look, making it unique. Our new range of women's apparel offers all that', Baden concluded.
