Nike Maxsight one of the best inventions of 2005 according to Time
This month, Time published its 2005 Best Inventions list: it included the sports contact lenses Nike Maxsight, the result of a collaboration between the American brand and Bausch & Lomb.
The Nike MaxSight contact lenses were chosen for their ability to considerably improve the sight and performance of people who practice any type of sport. Time commented: 'Nike's amber-tinted contact lenses filter out blue light to reduce glare and improve the visibility of baseballs, tennis balls and other moving objectives. The gray-green version gives golfers an edge by enhancing the dips and curves of the green'.
The article provides some significant data and the positive tests carried out on the many sports people who wore the Nike MaxSight contact lenses. The magazine added: 'Brian Roberts, second baseman on the Canadian team, Orioles, wore MaxSights contact lenses and was able to increase his batting average last season. Michelle Wie, the young American golfing prodigy, wore them at the start of her professional career'.
The article also reports that these contact lenses almost totally filter out ultraviolet rays.
