Mikli presents the new Starck Eyes collection in Alux
Because sight is the most important of our senses, Philippe Starck and Alain Mikli have united their respective technical and creative skills to create a new optical concept: biovision, glasses inspired by people and dedicated to their wellbeing.
Their latest challenge is the new collection in Alux: 4 years of work to create new glasses in which microbiomechanics takes over from the traditional screw hinge and was inspired by the natural intelligence of the arm with which it shares the same freedom of movement. Result: articulation with a total absence of screws to guarantee constant pressure on the temples and offer greater comfort.
The Alux vision and sun collection is in aluminum, the metal for design and lightness: twice as light as titanium, 3 times lighter than steel and 100% recyclable. With more than 300 operations to make each pair of glasses, the front is a solid single piece with no soldering. The temples are coated with rubber for perfect heat insulation and total comfort. Anodizing also ensures that the aluminum is exceptionally resistant to atmospheric agents. The nose piece is in Grillamid and the lens assembly system is unique and patented. A number is engraved on each pair of glasses as a guarantee of their uniqueness.
