Koura Kaba Fantoni testimonial for Bollé sports team
Koura Kaba was born to Congolese parents in the Congo in 1984. He was only a few years old when his parents separated and he moved to Italy with his father. This was the start of a story of continual moves, desertion, welfare officers and loneliness.
Then came the turning point: at 16 he moved to Mondovì where he met coach Milvio Fantoni, who instilled in him his huge passion for athletics and helped Koura to develop his great gift. Fantoni adopted him and Koura found he had a family as well as the chance to embark on a career as a fully-fledged Italian athlete.
Bushnell Performance Optics Italy chose Koura Kaba Fantoni for its Bollé brand, not only because it recognized his potential to be a great champion, but also to reward the humility of a boy who had never had anything, but was able to keep smiling and find something to fight for. Sensitive to racial problems, the company selects promising sports talents for its international team and gives hope and support to those who have the most need.
Koura Kaba Fantoni began his competitive career fairly late in life and his growth has been slowed by various physical disorders. But thanks to his enormous willpower, he has achieved many important results. He will soon be taking part in the most important national and international events, starting with the European championships at Göteborg and the world championships at Osaka in 2007.
