Italian eyewear on Paris runway
For the fourth year running, Italian eyewear industry is in Paris to present the previews of the new spring/summer 2006 collections.
On Thursday, October 20th (at 12.30 pm), at the Automobile Club de France, Place de la Concorde, in the heart of Paris, over 100 models representative of the 2006 eyewear collections will parade before buyers and international press. A tribute to Italian production that has always played a leading role in the world eyewear industry.
The exceptional nature of this event is confirmed by the punctual and ever-increasing attendance of Italian companies: this year there will be no fewer than 48 companies on the runway, delighted to take part in the most unique and unrepeatable event of its kind.
The eyewear show is organized by Anfao, the Association of Manufacturers of Optical Products, in cooperation with Ice of Paris and represents one of the many Made in Italy promotional initiatives at international level. A project promoted and backed up by the institutions attending the event in order to support the sector: the presence of Deputy Minister for Manufacturing, Adolfo Urso, and the President of Ice, Umberto Vattani, has been confirmed.
The Paris runways will be showing all the latest and exclusive proposals for men and women, sun and vision collections, also for children, and, last but not least, specific frames for sports lovers, all really unique designer items of extremely high quality. The different collections are accompanied by a wide range of cases, the essential complement for eyewear and genuinely precious objects. New to the 2005 edition is the chance to get a close look at the models: in addition to being shown on the catwalk, the eyewear will also be on display.
'We are pleased about the huge participation by our companies; combined effort, especially in these difficult times, is the best reply to the market', said Anfao chairman Cirillo Marcolin. 'The Paris show is an essential occasion for letting people know about the quality, excellence and beauty of our glasses, the result of the expertise of our companies and the creativity of our designers. The presence at the show of the institutions can only confirm that this common route between the public and private sectors is a successful model, an effective tool for enhancing our production at international level'.
Product excellence, quality, innovation. And, above all, fashion. These are the key words for Italian eyewear in Paris. From the trend point of view, Made in Italy eyewear confirms its desire to amaze, but without being excessive. Luxury in spring/summer 2006 is given a free, but sober and discreet, rein. Successful again this season are generous, wraparound and ultra-feminine lines. Huge attention to detail, from the monobrand logos to colors that perfectly harmonize with the structure of the glasses without 'upsetting' the balance of the design.
