I-Style in Usa: January/October 2004 data
According to the data released by the American department of trade, Ice has published the export results for the first ten months of last year for certain I-Style sectors in the United States.
Although good recovery in American domestic demand has been confirmed, despite the growing weakness of the dollar against the euro, there are conflicting trends in the various sectors taken into account.
The most dynamic sectors compared to the same period 2003, were:
- perfumes and cosmetics (+38%);
- women's coats (+21%);
- neckties (+18%);
- leather items (+13%);
- cotton-wool-silk fabrics (+10%, +17%, +19%, respectively);
- eyewear (+8%).
Worries are increasing about the performance of jewelry sector (-13%), which also represents a downturn in Italy's market share of the sector in the United States of over two percentage points compared to the same period 2002, i.e. in 24 months. There has been a downturn in footwear (less than 0.5%), but it is still below the figures of two years ago.
