First adidas Originals sunglasses collection
adidas Originals presents its first eyewear collection: no longer just sneakers and clothing, but also sunglasses for a total look that's immediately recognizable thanks to the unmistakable blue Trefoil.
There are four models, Sausalito, Avinyo, Shibuya-Ku and Palermo-Viejo, and they are inspired by a Seventies and Eighties atmosphere. A real revival of shapes and colors that immediately call to mind the decades that are still alive in the collective imagination.
A return to the past, but with a modern interpretation: materials, technologies and comfort are the best the Third Millennium has to offer. The frames are made in Spx, the ultra-light materials that's flexible and strong; the lenses are polycarbonate, scratch-resistant, guarantee perfect protection from UVA B and C rays and, thanks to the base 8 curve, they prevent any type of vision distortion.
The colors are also a skilful mix of classical black and tortoise, nuances available in all models, with bright orange, white, apple and magenta for some of the four proposals.
Shapes are more or less generous: Sausalito and Shibuya-Ku have a more compact design, Avinyo and Palermo-Viejo have large, wraparound frames.
Sausalito gets it name from what was a small fishing village north of San Francisco and which became famous in the Seventies for its houseboats and because it was the meeting place of artists. Sausalito glasses have strong and decisive lines in black, tortoise, orange and white.
The historical quarter of Barcelona, for years Avinyo has been the center of gravity for the city's aristocracy. Today, it is one of its liveliest districts, with numerous pedestrian precincts and fashionable stores, and it is the place where adidas chose to open its first Originals store in Spain. Another development, Avinyo are Seventies-style glasses featuring voluptuous lines and a contrasting strip on the bridge inspired by the famous 'go faster stripes' that were all the rage on sports cars in the 1970s. Colors are classical black and tortoise, or bright and uninhibited apple and crystal.
Shibuya-Ku, the quarter in Tokyo that's hectic at any hour of the day or night, a meeting place for fun lovers and the home of an Originals store, are pure lifestyle glasses. Their look is borrowed from the Fifties and Sixties, an elongated shape suited to minute ovals enriched with a futuristic touch. Colors are high on impact, like black, tortoise, green and white, and underscore a design with a strong character.
Palermo-Viejo represents the heart of bohemian Buenos Ayres. A concentration of matchless stores selling typically national products and objects of pure luxury, little restaurants and bars, coffee shops and tango houses. Obviously, there had to be an Originals store and there had to be Palermo-Viejo glasses. This is the most flamboyant, most daring, most sought-after model. Black or tortoise, or pure magenta and white are the colors of adidas Originals glasses.
