Alberto Repossi considers eyewear
According to Milano Finanza Fashion, Alberto Repossi, the jeweler who is best known as the supplier to the Grimaldi family and all the aristocracy in Europe, is negotiating the entry of IT Holding through the acquisition of the 20% share held by financier Luigi Giribaldi, who for some months now has been working on the possible transfer of his shares.
Originally from Turin, the Repossi family entered the high class jewelry world in the Twenties. Now they have two boutiques: the first opened in Monaco in 1970 and the other on Place Vendôme in Paris.
The aim behind this operation would be to create jewelry for the designers in the group (Ferré, Exté and Malo), which would allow it to expand but without too demanding commitments for the future of the company: 'We are, and wish to remain, a family company and to concentrate on our specific specialization: jewelry and watches', Repossi told the Milan newspaper.
Lastly, the jeweler is also evaluating the production under license of fashion accessories with his name. 'I am considering the idea of giving my name to eyewear, for example', Repossi stated. 'Perhaps by making the most expensive glasses in the world'.
