Trivex by Ppg available in Europe

Ppg Industries presented during last Silmo Trivex, the lens material which combines excellent optics and impact resistance in a thin and ultralight-weight lens.

'Trivex is a completely new category of lensmaterial", said Todd White, Ppg general manager of optical monomers and coatings. "The material has been embraced by the U.S. and Asian markets for its ability to deliver durability, comfort and excellent optical performance. These attributes are important for all eyewear and for popular three-piece frames in particular, one reason we anticipate Trivex material will be so successful in the European market, where fashion is so important".

Three lens manufacturers are now offering lenses made from Trivex material in the European market: Pnx lenses from Hoya Vision Care, Trilogy lenses from Younger Optics, and Excelite Tvx lenses from Thai Polymer Lens, Thai Optical Group.

That is why, with Jerry Dooledy, Commercial Development Manager of Ppg, at the press briefing during Silmo there where also Danny Van Goethem, product manager Hoya Vision Care Europe, Nikki Busuttil, marketing communications manager Thai Polymer Lens and Igor Loshak, managing director Younger Optics Europe.
