Safilo Possible Issue of Bonds of up to 300 Million Euros

Safilo plans to issue a high-yield debenture bond of up to 300 million euros: this is what has emerged from a leak reported by Reuters and, according to today's Il Sole 24 Ore, confirmed by banking circles. The launch should take place during the first quarter of the year.

The operation follows on the acquisition by Csfb Private Equity (Credit Suisse group) of a minority share in Safilo, for which Csfb paid out approximately 270 million euros. According to reliable sources, Safilo, which in 2001 carried out a buyout operation, will finance the latter from the proceeds from the assignment of the share and the issue of the bond.
