'Point of View' at Silmo

'Point of View' at Silmo

Silmo Paris 2003 marks the official debut of the first line of sunglasses from Alviero Martini, "Point of View". The collection, initially composed of 24 models, will be produced and distributed in all major world markets, including Japan, by Sover, which recently signed a five-year license agreement with the Milan house.

The first contacts with potential clients, and in particular with operators from the Far East, were extremely positive: despite the current general stagnation of the optics market, sales are expected to considerably exceed initial estimates. Sover's target for the 2003/2004 season is 120 thousand pairs of glasses, the equivalent of overall billings of 5 million euros.

Like all Alviero Martini articles, the frames also convey a strong passion for traveling and they are recognizable by the antique geographical map printed on the leather, a symbol that has made Alviero Martini famous all over the world. But leather isn't used for the eyewear simply as decoration, but as an element that is both significant and essential.

In producing these models Sover has made maximum use of its production know-how, the vast experience of its managerial staff, and the stylist's extraordinary sensitivity. The result is decidedly positive.
