New ideas from Gianfranco Ferré
In the prestigious setting at via Pontaccio, Milan, Gianfranco Ferré has presented his new ideas for 2004. They include eyewear, a new side to the 'future luxury' project interpreted by the stylist and produced by Allison.
Pure design and high-level know-how, creativity and leading-edge workmanship. Shapes and sizes vary. They are either small, slightly elongated and discreet, or more essential, square or rounded, often wraparound, and in perfect harmony with the shape of the face.
The materials enhance their value thanks to high-definition treatments and successful combinations. The metals convey the utmost in lightness, purity, precision. They are used for the entire frame, sometimes double around the lenses, for the front piece only, for the parts connecting the rimless lenses to the temples, for the decorative inserts that embellish and adorn.
The range of colors gives the collection a kaleidoscopic identity. The colored metals reveal an infinity of spirit: yellow or pink gold, silver, ruthenium, bronze, palladio, shiny or mat, light or dark. The acetates have more delicate, natural nuances ranging from honey to powder, from dove to Havana but also the deeply intense shades of must and burgundy, dark brown and black, gray and hematite, at times illuminated with pearly effects. In contrast or in assonance, the lenses are also singularly appealing in ochre, brick, smoke gray, green, rust, plum.
Some genuine 'masterpieces' stand out as a constant and unmistakable symbol of excellence. The models with frames finished in cookie-colored crocodile or in black dear skin, and shaded lenses inserted also in the temples. The metal and injected frames with the personalized 'F' hinge. The limited editions with toric lenses and metal frames studied with Swarovski crystals.
