Moulin International buys German framemaker NiGuRa

Optical frame maker Moulin International Holdings Ltd. will buy German framemaker NiGuRa Optik GmbH for 10 million euros from Rodenstock Group.

The acquisition will make Moulin the largest optical frame and sunglasses supplier in Germany. The move will add four new brands(Reebok, Feraud, NiGuRa and Enjoy) to the company's distribution portfolio.

Moulin is also in discussions to acquire distribution businesses in Europe and the US as part of its strategy of putting more emphasis on distributing its output. About 35% of Moulin's production capacity is dedicated to original design manufacturing and original equipment manufacturing, and the rest is earmarked for distribution.

Moulin owns the distribution rights to about 30 brands, around 20 under license and the remainder self-owned. Europe is the company's biggest market, accounting for 44% of its total revenue.
