McQueen eyewear at Safilo?

According to today's Milan daily, Milano Finanza, a long-term eyewear production agreement is being finalized between British stylist, Alexander McQueen, and Safilo.

The license contract, which should replace the previous agreement between the stylist and Murai of Japan, refers to the men's and women's vision and sunglasses collections, and should begin January 2004.

The official launch won't however take place until next spring, with a soft launch at the women's ready-to-wear fashion shows in Paris and the real debut taking place in Milan at the next Mido, from May 7 through 9. The new collection should also be more comprehensive than the previous one produced by Murai.
