Indo grows and opens facility in Thailand

Indo, the Spanish company that produces ophthalmic lenses and optical material and which began a joint venture with Italy's Diamonex CB Medical at end 2002, has announced a 2.3% increase in billings for the first nine months of 2003.

In detail, international sales increased by 9.6% and there was a 1.2% upturn on the Spanish market. The company describes the results as 'good' and they confirm its leadership of the Spanish ophthalmic market, as well as the international expansion process the group has begun.

Indo has also announced the opening of a new facility for the production of organic lenses in Thailand. Currently the group consists of 17 companies and five production centers in Spain, China and Morocco; it also has subsidiaries in the United States, France, Portugal, Morocco and Chile.
