Germany: opticians examine health reform

'We shouldn't be complaining about the problems, but finding ways to resolve them': this is the opinion expressed by Thomas Nosch, President of Zva, the Central Association of German Opticians, at the conference in Osnabrück, a meeting which focused mainly on the problems of the health reform.

Nosch said that companies can cope with the new situation, because the reform also offers new chances. Zva itself has begun negotiations with some private insurance companies to include the instruments used for sight recover in supplementary insurance packages.

Starting from next year, Zva will also increase its marketing budget to ease the expected downturn in consumer demand. Lastly, many questions that still remain unanswered about the reform's contradictory decisions and solutions were raised at the conference.
