Big news for Mido 2004. The premier international eyewear exhibition will offer a broader and revamped event, where the traditional appointments with exhibitors and visitors are complemented by new offerings to cater to the real needs of the trade.
Mido is responsive to market needs and moves with these. After collecting the views of exhibitors and visitors through a survey conducted during the exhibition and by mailing a questionnaire, Mido felt it was strategic to introduce some innovations in order to better address the needs of the industry, by shortening the exhibition dates. The exhibition in 2004 will be a 3-day event instead of 4, from 7 to 9 May 2004; the intent is to promote business dealings, with more flexible opening hours that will be extended to the evening, allowing international trade people to make the most of their time based on logistic and sales needs.
The new Mido is something more than an exhibition, it is a wide range of activities that are designed to foster business initiatives and to raise the profile of all those working in the eyewear industry. Mido never closes and becomes Mido-Eyesystem, with an eye on the eyewear industry 365 days a year, all along the line and with the highlight being the exhibition days.
Countless benefits and surprises are in store for the trade. On of these is Mido On Line; under an agreement reached with Fiera Milano and with the EyesWay portal, this service offers all exhibitors an on-line showcase where they can promote their products all year long and receive free real-time news about the international eyewear industry; Mido Easy Service, with special offers and ad-hoc logistic services through the Internet; Mido Education, which, in partnership with leading trade and international associations, will provide training during the exhibition but also throughout the year with courses that are tailored to the needs of the trade based on the requests received by the organizing secretariat.
Added to this, starting with the next exhibition, Mido Trend and Mido Tech will be joined by a third section, Mido Sport, a high-profile image, a meeting place hosting interesting events. This area is given over to a variety of sports featuring eyewear, lenses and the most innovative materials of international production, with reference to their manufacturers and location of their exhibition stand at Mido.
