EU-Usa: steel dispute reopens

Last week the World Trade Organization pronounced on the legality of measures taken last year by the Bush administration to protect Us steel and came out in favor of the European Union.

As a consequence, EU member states and seven other trading powers (Brazil, China, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, South Korea and Switzerland) are threatening countermeasures against the Us if it does not respect the opinion of the Wto. One of these is a 30% sanction on sunglasses made in the Usa, which could take effect starting mid-December.
