De Sole and Ford close to Versace?
According to rumors published today in Il Sole 24 Ore, Domenico De Sole and Tom Ford have allegedly reached an agreement with the heirs of Gianni Versace to take over the company at a price of 250 million euro.
The possibility of an alliance between the Gucci and Versace brands was up for discussion back in 1997, after the Italian designer was murdered in the United States. Although the project was never implemented, relations between the Versace and De Sole families, both of which originally from Calabria, have become solidly established over the years.
This is the reason that, with the duo's adieu to Gucci, the rumors are back in the news. De Sole, who is in the Philippines to inaugurate three stores, responded with a classic 'no comment'.
