BasicNet renews Metzler International license

BasicNet, Marco Boglione's Turin-based company, has renewed the agreement with Metzler International Italia for the production and distribution of its own brands of glasses, sunglasses and relevant accessories until December 31, 2005.

On the basis of the agreement, which covers all countries except Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong, Metzler International Italia will continue to have the license for the Kappa and Robe di Kappa brands.

Revenue is forecast at 18.5 million euros; production will begin at the facility in Segusino (TV), Italy, while the optimization of the purchase of raw materials and assembly will take place at facilities located in Italy, the Czech Republic and China.

With over 4 million frames produced, the Metzler International Group's billings for the last financial year were in excess of 70 million euros.
