Arpels Buys Out Majority in Alessandro Dell'Acqua
Claude Arpels, CEO of the Redwall Group, bought out 70% of Alessandro dell'Acqua's company. The Italian designer will remain as artistic director and will also design the Borbonese clothes collection. The agreement provides for the continuation of existing license contracts for the production of perfumes, shoes and eyewear with the Dell'Acqua label and awarded to EuroItalia, Iris and Visibilia, respectively. The manager was assisted in the acquisition of Dell'Acqua by the international firm, Delfino, Wilkie Farr & Gallager.
Arpels seems to be oriented towards creating a Bologna-based pole of luxury Italian articles, with branches throughout the country, and has substantial programs for expansion to the USA. The recent new acquisition came about after Arpels sold its 20% share in Van Cleef & Arpels to Richemont Group and acquired the Redwall Group, the company that produces bags and accessories with the Redwall and Borbonese branding.
