Valentino, New Couture License for Sinv
Valentino and Sinv have signed a license agreement for the production and distribution of a new couture line. The fashion house is aiming at a young and trendy, but always elegant, line positioned at the top-end of the market. The first collection, for men and women, will be presented in Milan in January, and the carefully selected distribution will begin in fall/winter 2003/2004. The financial target is to exceed billings of 300 million euros, with advertising investments of over 15 million euros.
"My creative team and I have really enjoyed applying the more classical elements of Valentino couture to a line made for young people and intended for the sportswear price range' Valentino Garavani explained. 'You'll see the lace, satin and embroidery that is typical of my work on jeans, parkas, T-shirts".
"The objective' said Michele Norsa, CEO of Valentino 'is to make the brand more accessible to a public that is young and aware of fashion developments. Experience, sensitivity and the personal involvement of Ambrogio Dalla Rovere will definitely be of support and will contribute to guaranteeing the line's precise positioning in a market that is highly competitive, but expanding considerably in this particular segment".
The president of Sinv, Ambrogio Dalla Rovere, commented: "We are very pleased to be able to work with Valentino on this new project. From the very beginning, we have shared the desire to offer a product of excellent quality through distribution that underscores its exclusiveness, and we know that Valentino's creativity and the prestige of his brand, combined with his team's expertise and our know-how, will very quickly position this line amongst the reference players".
