Stock Exchange, Luxottica Ready for Mib 30
According to the Websim (Intermonte Group) simulation, Luxottica is ready to join Mib 30 (Mib30 is a basket of the first 30 stocks on the Italian market in order of capital and liquidity.) in the coming review in March. The entry of the Venetian company will take place at the same time as the Banca Popolare di Bergamo: taken into consideration in order to identify the pair of companies, were current "weights" as measured by Ilc (the capital and liquidity ratio), in other words, the ratio between capital and the average daily exchange volume. Although Luxottica's capital is high, its volumes are moderate and it risks being overtaken by Autogrill on the Ilc front.
The Ilc is the stock selection criterion on the basis of which Mib 30 revision is generally carried out in March and September. The thirty companies with the highest Ilc join Mib 30, whereas the first three to be excluded are held as reserves. If a company exits from Mib 30 due to exceptional circumstances (a take-over bid, for example) it is substituted by the first reserve company.
