Oakley Annouces New Collegiate Licensing Program

Oakley Inc. announced that, through a licensing agreement with the Collegiate Licensing Company of Atlanta, will develop a line of limited-edition apparel products and eyewear with matching school colors.

"These are not traditional collegiate pieces. The only thing traditional about these garments are the university colors," commented Oakley President Colin Baden. "I don't care who you are, a mascot modified by a mad scientist gets your attention," Baden concluded.

"CLC is very excited about this new partnership with Oakley. The Oakley brand is synonymous with quality, innovation, and fashion. We are pleased to bring Oakley into the CLC family of licensees, and proud to offer the college customer access to Oakley's new collegiate line of product," commented Pat Battle, president and CEO, The Collegiate Licensing Co.

It is estimated that the collegiate licensing market is approximately $2.7 billion annually. Initial rollout of the products will be to college campus bookstores, Parisians, Hibbetts, Finish Line and select specialty sporting goods retailers.
