Made In Italy Eyewear On The Catwalks In Paris

The Italian Eyewear Fashion Show will take place tomorrow in the Institute of Italian Culture in rue de Varenne in Paris, with a preview of the Spring-Summer 2003 collections of sunglasses, prescription eyewear, and children's eyewear.

About 30 Italian companies will showcase their most exclusive models, providing a sneak preview of what we can expect to see in the stores next spring. All the big brand names will be present: Romeo Gigli and Gianfranco Ferré (Allison), Lancetti (Arlecchino), Verri (D'Arrigo Moda Italia), Fendi and Givenchy (De Rigo), Krizia and Vivienne Westwood (Filos), Versace and Gai Mattiolo (I.C. Optics), Ferragamo and Web (Luxottica), Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli (Marcolin), Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent (Safilo), Lotto (Sover), Laura Biagiotti and Iceberg (Visibilia), as well as the just as glamorous house-brands such as Baruffaldi (Baruffaldi), Police (De Rigo), Fovs (Fovs), Giulia Lozza (G5), Nouvelle Vague (Italian Style), Look and Augusto Valentini (Look Occhiali), Arnette, Ray-Ban and Vogue (Luxottica), Oxydo and Carrera (Safilo).

The children's collections also will dominate the scene with models such as Snoopy (GT Occhialeria), Lookkino (Look Occhiali), Cébé Junior (Marcolin), Lilliput (Trenti Industria Occhiali) and United Colors of Benetton (United Optical). Here, color is teamed with new and tiny precious detailing that has been inspired by the collections for adults so that kids can act like grown-ups.
A catwalk with a host of suggestions and creative stimuli for all-new shapes, colors and materials. These are merged with leading-edge technology to create eyewear that offers ever greater comfort, and that is a mix of the finest expressions of artisan workmanship.
