Liz Claiborne Inc. Agrees To License Eyewear to Safilo

Liz Claiborne Inc. announced yesterday that it has signed an eyewear licensing agreement with Safilo Group(the Group's U.S. headquarters, Safilo USA, is located in Parsippany, N.J.). The initial launch collection will be unveiled in March 2003 in New York City at Vision Expo East and will consist of 16 women's Liz Claiborne ophthalmic styles. The Liz Claiborne Optics collection is scheduled to roll out in March to optical retailers nationwide. Additional ophthalmic collections under various Liz Claiborne Inc. brands (including Claiborne, Crazy Horse, First Issue and Villager ) are expected to follow as part of the licensing agreement. The sunwear collection will continue via a sublicense with Outlook Eyewear.

The Liz Claiborne Optics collection consists of metal and plastic models and will feature wearable, feminine designs that are both classic yet modern. The launch collection will carry a suggested retail price of $100.00 to $160.00.
