Geometrical Shapes And Wrap-around Frames for the Collection from Salvatore Ferragamo
The new collection from Salvatore Ferragamo (by Luxottica) is characterized by geometrical shapes, light, breezy wrap-around frames, mad of iridescent acetate or satin or brusher effect metal, and laser applied patterns suggesting textile weaves. The range has 8 acetate and 12 metal models.
Marks of Ferragamo style are to be seen throughout the women-s collection: the Vara buckle from the classic shoes becomes an elegant metal decoration for the temples (wrap/around model 1066, three-piece model 1072 and model 2047 with its large acetate frame). The hall-mark gancino embellishes the sinuous metal temples of new wrap-around. In models 1070B and 1071B the gancino is graced with genuine Swarowsky crystals.
Soft, ergonomically designed wrap-arounds prevail in the Fashion Sport line, wich is unisex. Here the lenses are polarized, mirror-sryle or tinted in various fashions colours. A brushed metal bridge and temples give model 1067 its original look. While extreme protection against sunlight is afforded by model 1064 thanks to a latral lens extending along the metal temple. Rubber-look two-tone metal is used in model 1065, with frameless wrap-around lenses.
The use of acetate enhance the bold square-cut models, like unisex model 2049, with its thin wrap-around acetate frames. Colours include tortoiseshell, horn, coral and azalea.
Model 2046 is made of two plates of acetate, one over the other, in contrasting colours and has temples with the classic Salvatore Ferragamo gros grain engraved by laser. The same intricate engraving recurs on the temples of model 2045, with frames made of a special iridescent plastic giving off a pearly sheen.
Unusual and striking the effect produced by model 2050 for men, with bottom edge temples and a wide square-shaped frame.
