
Carl Zeiss: Ludwin Monz New General Manager Medical Systems
Ludwin Monz (38) assumed the position of Executive Vice President and General Manager in the Medical Systems business group at Carl Zeiss on October 1, 2002. He succeeds Michael Kaschke (45) who formerly held this post in addition to his responsibility as a member of the Carl Zeiss Board of Management.
Monz joined the research division of Carl Zeiss in Oberkochen in May 1994, became head of development in April 1996 and was appointed Vice President and General Manager in the Geodetic Systems division in Jena in October 1998. He has been responsible for development in the Surgical Products division since March 2000 and has been Vice President and General Manager in this division since July 2002. He will continue to head the division in future.
The Medical Systems group consists of the Surgical Products and Service divisions. In accordance with the business group structure of the Carl Zeiss Group, the reporting system of the Medical Systems group also includes the company Carl Zeiss Meditec AG which, however, has its own independent Board of Management. The Supervisory Board of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG is chaired by Michael Kaschke.
