Fino al 27 settembre il mercato di Convent Garden di Londra ospita l’installazione dell’artista francese Charles Pétillon dal titolo Heartbeat: 100 mila palloncini bianchi di lattice legati tutti insieme e attraversati da luci, che si snodano attraverso il soffitto della South Hall dell’edificio, per 54 metri di lunghezza e 12 metri di larghezza. Una luce bianca, progettata per imitare un battito cardiaco, pulsa dolcemente illuminando la struttura dall’interno. L'effetto ottico è quello di una grande nuvola bianca. I palloncini, simbolo di gioia, sono utilizzati da Pétillon per modificare il modo in cui le persone percepiscono spazi che conoscono bene, per invitarli ad osservare con occhi nuovi.Until September 27 London’s Convent Garden Market will host an installation titled Heartbeat by French artist Charles Pétillon: stretching 54 meters in length and 12 meters in width, 100,000 white latex balloons tied together and crossed by lights float across the ceiling of the South Hall. Conceived to imitate the beating of a heart, a white light pulsates gently inside the structure. The optical effect is of a large white cloud. Balloons symbolize joy and Pétillon uses them to change the way people perceive the places they know well, inviting them to look at things with new eyes.
