Final Event of the "Dialogues on the Ecomuseum": The Future of the "Lands of Eyewear"

A discussion between institutions and businesses to define development strategies for the Belluno Eyewear Ecomuseum

On Thursday, February 20, at 6:00 PM, the final meeting of the "Dialogues on the Ecomuseum" series will take place at the Eyewear Museum in Pieve di Cadore. The event is dedicated to the project "Lands of Eyewear – Belluno Eyewear Ecomuseum."

This initiative, promoted by the Eyewear Museum Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Padua, Confindustria Belluno Dolomiti, ANFAO, EBO, and the municipalities of Pieve and Calalzo di Cadore, aims to enhance the industrial and artisanal heritage of the eyewear sector. The project is funded by the Cariverona Foundation and seeks to create an immersive journey exploring the industry and culture of Belluno eyewear.

The Ecomuseum will offer visitors an itinerary connecting companies, museums, and iconic locations within the district, allowing them to delve into the history and innovations of an iconic product: eyewear. Despite its apparent simplicity, eyewear is the result of centuries of expertise in material processing and design, embodying a perfect blend of tradition and innovation.

In previous meetings, experts in industrial history, heritage marketing, communication, and tourism have discussed the project's impact on the economic, social, and cultural development of the area, as well as its role in strengthening the identity and brand of the involved companies.

The Ecomuseum is conceived not only as a tool for preserving local heritage but also as a means to enhance the competitiveness of the industry’s businesses.

During the final meeting, the achievements so far and the future strategies for consolidating the structure and promoting it nationally and internationally will be presented. A roundtable discussion with representatives from local institutions, businesses, and project partners (Certottica, Anfao, Ebo, Confindustria, Gal) will address the Ecomuseum’s management model, discussing the necessary actions to ensure its long-term growth and attractiveness.

This event represents a key moment for dialogue among the project's key stakeholders, with the goal of establishing the "Lands of Eyewear" as a benchmark for industrial culture and experiential tourism in the eyewear sector.
