Filippo Pau Takes the Helm of Assottica for the 2025-2026 Term

Filippo Pau Takes the Helm of Assottica for the 2025-2026 Term

The Assottica Gruppo Contattologia assembly, held on January 16 in Milan, marked a significant leadership change for the 2025-2026 term.

Filippo Pau, Country Franchise Head Vision Care and Country Manager of Alcon Italia, was elected president of the industrial association, succeeding Andrea Milletti, Country Manager Italy and South Europe Cluster Lead of CooperVision, who successfully led the association over the past two years. Supporting Pau as vice president is Francesca La Forgia, Professional Education & Development Manager Italy at Johnson & Johnson Vision.

“It is with great enthusiasm that I take on this role, following in the footsteps of Andrea Milletti,” said Filippo Pau. “Among the most significant initiatives we will undertake this year is the World Contact Lens Day, a global event that we will celebrate for the first time on April 15, with active participation from optical centers. Our sector faces important challenges, but I am confident that, together, we will seize new opportunities to promote safer and more conscious use of contact lenses, contributing to the growth of the market.”

Assottica's Mission

Since 1980, Assottica Gruppo Contattologia has represented the leading manufacturers and distributors of contact lenses and their maintenance products, fostering a culture of widespread and responsible contact lens use. The association’s members include industry leaders such as Alcon, Bausch+Lomb, CooperVision, Johnson & Johnson Vision, Mark’ennovy, Schalcon, and Soleko.

With its new leadership in place, Assottica is gearing up for an intense two-year period, focusing on innovation and awareness-raising. The World Contact Lens Day is just one of the key initiatives aimed at actively engaging optical centers and promoting safe and informed contact lens practices.
