Dolpi pays homage to Titian

Dolpi pays homage to Titian

At Mido Dolpi will present a limited edition of 200 pairs of Titian eyewear made from Titian’s beech tree (Faggio del Tiziano). In 2012 a centuries-old beech tree on Monte Ricco was blown down by a strong wind. The tree was part of a legend according to which Titian, an Italian Renaissance artist, rested in the shade of its branches. This natural event has made it possible to turn a piece of history into an object. Designed by Lucio Stramare, the frame and temples are made from very fine sheets of beech wood that have been crafted to obtain eyewear weighing only 20 grams. Another detail associated with the artist is the Titian Red wood insert running along the temples as far as the acetate end piece with the model’s name and serial number.
