The charm of the tropics in a clutch
In the second clutch created for Maison 203, designer Odo Fioravanti - winner of the Compasso d’Oro 2011 award and German Design Award 2014 - once again demonstrates a desire to examine the dialog between nature and artifice, between geometrical research and organic shapes, in a unique language provided by 3D printing. In sintered nylon modified and coloured by hand, the Ivy clutch is like something out of books by the first botanical explorers: superimposed surfaces are transformed into leaves and become the key elements of a pattern of circles and hexagonal fronds edging on the hypnotic. A joyful rhythm that speaks of distant flowers and leaves, of all-enveloping colourful climbing ivy. With a slender metal chain for wearing also as a crossbody bag, Ivy is an example of contemporary technological craftsmanship. It is available in powder blue, creamy white, brick red or jungle green.
