Registrations at the Red Bull Illume contest are open
The Red Bull Illume Image Quest 2016 is the largest photographic contest in the world of action & adventure sport, covering 11 categories: Close Up, Energy, Enhance, Lifestyle, Masterpiece by Yodobashi, New Creativity, Playground, Sequence by Sony, Spirit, Wings, and the new entry, Mobile.
The contest presents not only breath-taking images, but also puts a spotlight on the lifestyle of the photographers who create them, as they often face long journeys in search of the perfect snapshot.
A jury of 50 – including Eva Maria Tomé, Photo Editor of El Pais, and Kathrin Kosaca, Assistant Editor-in-Chief and Art Director of Stern View – will select the 55 photo finalists, from among whom the finalists of the 11 categories and the grand prize winner will be chosen. The grand prize is a Yodobashi voucher worth 40,000.
The submissions phase began on 1 December and will end on 31 March 2016, when thousands of images will have been uploaded to the redbullillume.com website.
