Zerezes: natural sunglasses made in Brazil

A new discovery in the land of the FIFA World Cup 2014: attractive, eco-sustainable Zerezes eyewear Hugo Galindo, Henrique Meyrelles, Luiz Eduardo Rocha and Victor Lanari have been friends since their college days. They are between 25 and 35 years of age, come from Brazil and create eco-sustainable sunglasses: Zerezes.   Behind their clean-cut faces and an aesthetically successful product lies a world of research and recycling, of "odes" to their native land and the desire not to waste anything. They are the ambassadors of this anti-waste philosophy and representatives of a young, hardworking Brazil that is making the country increasingly international and "advanced".   The focus is all on craftsmanship - Zerezes sunglasses are strictly handmade – on research into new, 100% natural materials, and enormous attention to detail. Their idea is based on creating a well-made and exceptional design product; their goal is not mass production. New this year is the Restus series created from the wood shavings left over from making Zerezes sunglasses. The mantra of this line is Recycle.   How did the Zerezes eyewear adventure begin? Zerezes team: Actually, it began almost by accident. We were trying to buy international sunglasses in wood but we could never find them so we began to create them ourselves. We had been to design school so the basis was there and we put everything into creating good prototypes that were liked. What began as a hobby became a business.   What is the Restus series? It follows our desire not to waste anything. We took the shavings left over from creating Zerezes eyewear and made the frame; for the lenses we used a vegetable resin called Mamona. They are 100% natural.   Why all this attention to eco-sustainability? We believe that a good business must be based on attention to the environment. Crucial with regard to the product and our actions is a new direction that we believe must be taken; one that is based on good relations and a new economy that is more careful about waste. This is what we are trying to do.
