Upcoming “sex glass”: an app for “seeing” what your partner sees
Invented by a Lebanese student for augmented reality eyeglasses, the application delivers an unusual sensory experience The advertising slogan hints at great things: "Sex will never be the same again after this". The Guardian newspaper of London calls it "the sex application". It's not by Google, but a Lebanese startup. The a name gets straight to the point – "Sex with Glass", where Glass is obviously the augmented reality device invented by the search engine company. It's a kind of portable computer that delivers a new sexual experience with this app: seeing what your partner sees when you're making love. Of course you have to wear the glasses when you're doing it and give them a command: "OK Glass, it's time". At which point they transmit what the man or woman we're in bed with is seeing at exactly the same time. If both are wearing the glasses, the experience is reciprocal. "Some may find it repulsive" said Maktabi, a Lebanese student at St. Martins School of Arts who invented the application, "but others will find it exciting". In any case, you can simply command the glasses to stop transmitting the images. Sex with Glass stores them for five hours and they can be replayed if you want to see them again. And anyone can do it if they're wearing the glasses. The application can also switch room lights on and off and display a Kama Sutra manual if you need some inspiration for new positions. Currently being researched is an iPhone application connected to the glasses app. The initiative has its critics, who describe it as a kind of pornography also because the advertising visuals are all of young women in seductive poses. And there are those who deride it: after all, you can get the same effect if you make love in front of a mirror; a much simpler, older and less expensive "application". What's more you don't have to wear glasses that tend to steam up when the sex is especially hot so nobody can see anything. Source: repubblica.it
