Transitions Optical Expands Photochromic Technology to Skiers and Snowboarders
No more need to swap goggles while skiing or snowboarding Transitions Optical and Dragon Alliance announced the introduction of the new 2015 Dragon® Advanced Project X (APX) and Advanced Project Xs (APXs) snow goggles, featuring a Transitions® Boost adaptive goggle lens. Being hailed as "the cream of the crop" in the 2015 Dragon® Goggles Collection, the Dragon APX and APXs with Transitions® adaptive lens technology automatically change tint in response to changing sunlight and weather conditions. Colour optimized to help improve visual performance, the Dragon Transitions goggle lens enhances contrast and increases depth perception, providing a clear visual advantage on the slopes. With a broad visible light transmission range, the lens automatically darkens to a dark gray in bright sunlight and lightens to a contrast- enhancing yellow in cloudy or overcast weather. In addition, the Dragon Transitions goggle lens utilizes a spherical injection molded polycarbonate material that delivers endless peripheral vision and the easiest lens interchangeability. An integrated dual lens, it ensures a sealed thermal boundary with a super anti-fog formula for increased visibility. Specifically formulated for snow conditions, the new Transitions goggle lens is also designed to be more reactive on warmer, sunny days on the slopes and blocks 100 per cent of harmful UV rays to protect eyes from sun damage. "We are proud to be introducing our first snow lens product with a phenomenal partner, Dragon Alliance," said Larissa Bryan, director, Transitions Optical, Sunwear. "Throughout the course of the day, skiers and snowboarders often face changing light and weather conditions, and need to either change goggles or continue with a pair that's too dark or too light for the conditions. Our adaptive lens technology solves this problem by changing the tint automatically, so they can focus on the slopes," she added.
