Swiss Eyewear Group establishes a subsidiary in Italy
Benjamin Kohler, former Global CEO of Polaroid Eyewear joins the Swiss Eyewear Group as Chairman of the Board In September 2013 the Swiss Eyewear Group (International) AG (SEG), an innovative new global eyewear company launched the new INVU. ultra polarized brand through a network of independent distribution partners with distribution in over 40 countries around the globe. Today, SEG proudly announces the establishment of a wholly owned subsidiary in Italy. SEG is also pleased to announce that Benjamin Kohler, former Global CEO of Polaroid Eyewear, will be joining the Swiss Eyewear Group as Chairman of the Board of Directors later this month. Benjamin Kohler has over 20 years of international optical industry experience and led the successful global expansion of Polaroid Eyewear. His expertise and know-how will be a driving force in the international development of the Swiss Eyewear Group. "The establishment of a subsidiary in the key Italian market is a continuation of our global expansion strategy" says Benjamin Kohler. "Serving the large and important Italian optical community directly through Swiss Eyewear Group (Italia) S.r.l. will drive our production and sales volumes resulting in greater economies of scale. We will also have instant sell-out intelligence on our product portfolio enabling us to further develop and tailor the INVU. brand as well as our portfolio of licensed brands." Swiss Eyewear Group (Italia) will be based out of Varese and will be under the leadership of a highly experienced management team. Ernesto Scotti, former Managing Director of Polaroid Eyewear Italy, will be the Managing Director of SEG Italia. Ernesto Scotti has over 30 years of experience in the optical industry and brings a wealth of critical know-how to our growing company. Barbara Cocco will also be an important member of the management team as Sales Director of SEG Italia. She formerly held the position of key account manager for Polaroid Italy and has over 25 years of industry experience. "Her in-depth know-how of products and customers along with her expertise in building up and managing a successful agent organization will be critical to our success in Italy" says Ernesto Scotti, Managing Director of SEG Italia. The SEG Italia team will be supported by an experienced finance and customer service organization.
